District Water Quality & Testing

With the recent reports of lead in drinking water at several New Jersey Schools; the Clinton Township School District has taken action this past year to test for lead levels at chosen locations at the Clinton Township Middle School, Round Valley School, and Spruce Run School. The Patrick McGaheran School was tested in 2014. Currently Clinton Township Schools are moving forward to comply with recent New Jersey Department of Education requirements along with New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection guidelines and protocols for testing of lead in drinking water, which is required by July of 2017.

Water sources within the Clinton Township School District

Patrick McGaheran School source water for consumption is a well supplied source. The well water system is tested quarterly by McGowan Well Water Compliance Management Co. Lead testing was conducted on September 24, 2014 and tested by QC labs on October 3, 2014. Five locations were tested (nurse's office, kitchen, and three classroom sinks with drinking fountains). All samples came back well below EPA regulations for lead levels in drinking water.

Clinton Township Middle School, Round Valley School, Spruce Run School

Water source for consumption is supplied by nine ground water wells provided by the Town of Clinton Water Department. The Clinton Water Department conducts its own testing and the most recent results (for the year 2016 results from 2015) are available for review.
Water Quality Report – Clinton Township

The Clinton Township School District collected water samplings for lead at Clinton Township Middle School and Round Valley Schools on March 24, 2016. There were four samples collected at each school. Eurofins/QC labs tested samples on April 5, 2016. All samples were below EPA regulations for lead levels in drinking water.

The Clinton Township School District collected three water samples for lead at Spruce Run School on February 17, 2016. Eurofins/QC labs tested samples on April 5, 2016. All samples were below EPA regulations of lead levels in drinking water.

Sampling locations:
Clinton Township Middle School: gym, seventh and eighth grade drinking fountains, café/kitchen sink.
Round Valley School: fourth, fifth and sixth grade drinking fountains, café/kitchen sink.
Spruce Run School: café/kitchen sink, K-1 drinking fountain, nurse's sink.

The Clinton Township School District is committed to providing a safe environment for all students, staff, and community members. Sampling for lead in drinking water will continue in each of the four school buildings to comply with New Jersey Department of Education regulations and New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection guidelines.
